Each pendant begins as two flat discs of precious metal, which are engraved with your chosen initials, name, date or message. Mark then shapes each disc by hand using traditional doming tools, creating two perfect, curved halves. The ashes are carefully placed inside before the pendant is sealed shut through precision laser welding, ensuring complete security and a flawless, uninterrupted surface.
The result is a smooth, tactile pendant with a hidden chamber of ashes inside. When gently shaken, you can feel and hear the ashes moving — a deeply personal connection that only you know is there. Each Shaker Pendant begins with two flat circles of precious metal—either sterling silver, gold, or platinum—carefully cut and hand-finished. These discs serve as both the outer form and the inner chamber. Mark then uses traditional bench tools, including a doming block he has worked with for decades, to shape each disc into a smooth, curved half. This manual process creates soft, organic contours and ensures each half lines up with absolute precision.
Once the domed halves are formed, your loved one’s ashes are respectfully placed inside. The pendant is then laser welded closed, a process that creates a seamless, secure join. This step is essential: laser welding ensures that the ashes remain permanently sealed inside the pendant, protected from moisture, movement, and daily wear.
